Color Breathing Exercise
Color Breathing can be used anywhere with or without supporting audio tracks.
Colors are associated with various qualities so choose a color to suit your current needs, its complimentary colour is shown in brackets.
Often meditators visualize moving from their chosen colour to its complement, a way of creating change.
They may move from one colour to another to gain these qualities.
Red: Vitality, Energy, Strength and Will Power (Turquoise)
Orange: Happiness and Laughter (Blue)
Yellow: Intellect and Objectivity (Violet)
Green: Cleansing and harmony (Magneta)
Turquoise: Strengthens the immune system, counteracts disease (Red)
Blue: Peace and Relaxation, Restful Sleep (Orange)
Violet: Beauty, Dignity, Self-Respect, Spirituality (Yellow)
Magneta: Release of obsessional thoughts and memories (Green)
Establish a comfortable rhythm of breathing, and focus on it until your mind is clear. Allow the color to fill your mind's eye; then as you breathe in imagine the color bathing your body, from the soles of your feed right up to the top of your head.
Spend five minutes contemplating on the color being focused on.
